Distribution
This moth is seen in South Africa, mostly Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and Mpumalanga but also extending northward into Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe
Habitat Preferences
This species of moth lives in cool, grassy mountain areas and along the sunny edges of forests. In the Western Cape, it is found mostly in the fynbos where its caterpillars survive by eating the leaves the Erica.
