The taxonomy of Gorgopis and Eudalaca is a bit of a mess and I would be surprised if it were resolved in my lifetime. The status of Gorgopis and Eudalaca is unknown. At this time neither genus is supported by one or more apomorphies. In this particular instance we are in luck regarding the species as the wing pattern (and excellent condition of the specimen) appears to be distinctly marked to support cochlias as the species.
